Rush is part of the new wave of Korean Female Rapper. She is young and very talented. She also does most of her music herself. She records and mixes it all by herself. Hailing from the Southern city of Ulsan, Rush spoke to our great Curator - Ferd Isaacs
Where in Korea are you from?
I'm from Ulsan in South Korea.
How did you get your rap name?
I changed my rap name recently. I was Cielo, But now I'm Rush. It sometimes means 'hasty', but It doesn't mean bad thing. I chose such a name to stimulate the habit of not being diligent.
What made you start rapping?
When I was 14, I got to know Korean rappers and Hip-Hop music. It's such an amazing sensation. I listen to music everyday, and I wrote lyrics when I was free.
How long have you been rapping?
I guess I've been doing it for three or four years. It is my hobby. Now I feel awkward when I don't write the lyrics while listening to the beat.
What inspires you to write lyrics and be creative?
I think, good music produces good lyrics. Listening to good music inspires good inspiration.
Describe your style of rapping.
I don't know what to say in a way. There are still lots of gaps, but I am trying.

Who are your favorite rappers/singers/musicians?
I really love 'DEAN' and 'Jimin Park (in 15&)'. Their music really amazing. When I listen to their music, I feel so good. I suggest you listen to their music.
Who are your favorite producers?
I like Gray. His music is popular and addictive. So I listen to his music a lot.
What are your plans for the future?
I originally planned my first mixtape in 2016. But it will be delayed. There are many variations of tracks and participation. This year is a busy time for me. So I'm not sure to introduce it soon. But I intend to do so someday.
Are you working on new music?
A good idea to mind a lot lately. I am constantly writing the lyrics. When I finish recording, I will upload it on my SoundCloud. I will do so continue. Thank you for listening my music. I will try. Please keep an eye on me.
